In early June, a photo by Cecilia Wessels from Alberta became a social media sensation when it showed her husband, Theunis Wessels, casually mowing their backyard lawn as a fearsome tornado swirled behind him. “My beast mowing the lawn with a breeze in his hair,” – Cecilia wrote on her Facebook page which took global media by storm.
On Friday evening, as sunny weather began to change near Three Hills, Alberta, Theunis Wessels had one chore to get done before the busy week-end: mow the lawn. “I had to get it cut,” he told CTV News. “A lot of things happening over the weekend. Children were attending swim meets and some other sporting events over the weekend, so I had to make sure I got it done.”
